Job Description

We are growing an accelerate rate, and we are looking for an experienced Director/VP of Data Operations to organise and oversee the daily data acquisition operations of our company. You will be the one to ensure that our data operations are well-coordinated and efficient, and that our data is of the utmost quality. To achieve that, you will managing and designing our data acquisition procedures/infrastructure and coaching its people.

The area of responsibility for this role is very wide and thus requires thorough knowledge of the industry as well as of various company processes. The ideal candidate must be competent and able to plan many different kinds of operational activities. He/She must be an excellent leader who can discover the most efficient ways to run the data acquisition process.

The goal is to safeguard and augment the efficiency and quality of the company’s data operations to facilitate accelerating growth and long-term success of the company.

Responsibilities

•Plan and monitor the day-to-day running of the data acquisition operations

•Ensure quality of the captured data

•Supervise the data acquisition team and provide constructive feedback

•Evaluate regularly the efficiency of the data acquisition procedures

•Review financial information and adjust operational budgets to promote profitability

•Revise and/or formulate policies and promote their implementation

•Evaluate overall performance by gathering, analyzing and interpreting data and metrics

•Ensure that the company runs with legality and conformity to established regulations

•Take responsibility and initiative in smooth running of all data acquisition operations

•Create a department strategic plan which complies with and enhances the company-wide strategic plan and business plan

•Continuously reshape department best practices to provide highest client satisfaction

•Maintain strong relationships with any third-parties (vendors, financial institutions, suppliers)

•Provide outstanding leadership to team members to maximise work output and data quality

•Identify patterns and problem areas, and implement effective solutions to increase efficiency

REQUIREMENTS

•Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or related field (MBA preferred)

•5+ years of proven experience as Director/VP of Data Operations or equivalent position

•Excellent organisational and leadership abilities

•Outstanding communication and people skills

•Knowledge of industry’s legal rules and guidelines

•In depth knowledge of diverse business functions and principles

•Working knowledge of data analysis and performance/operation metrics

Flexibility to travel

•Preferably based in Amsterdam, The Netherlands, but other locations in Europe will be considered as well

•Preferably, 5+ years of industry experience

•Preferably, Computer vision, deep learning and data analysis (Python, R, Matlab) knowledge

Annual salary (60k to 90k) plus stock options (1% to 2%). To be discuss depending on experience (same for exact title / role).
